Designer or Standard?

A radiator can be the room’s statement piece or be a hidden secret depending on your desired aesthetic.
Energi House offers several different options when it comes to radiators from replacing existing radiators, fitting new radiators and pipework to installing full heating systems. We take the time to send a surveyor to your property to listen to your needs and provide advice on the suitability of different designs, shapes and sizes that are available to you from a small single panel convector radiator to traditional statement cast iron radiators.
As with any radiator you are having fitted it is imperative that you have the correct heat output (BTU), this is calculated by using a SAP calculator. An underperforming radiator can be just as frustrating as a broken one. We check that any radiator we fit has reached the correct BTU value ensuring it is fit for purpose.
You will be used to seeing the standard white rectangle on the wall but did you know that there are several types, each with their own benefits. With each (K1 and K2) radiator there are standard sizing options ranging from 300mm x 400mm to 750mm x 1800mm so you are sure to find the right size for your needs.

Standard Panel Convector Radiators

(K1) Single Radiators are typically fitted in areas that can benefit from the slimmer dimensions, hallways or WC’s for example. These heat up and produce heat rapidly.
(K2) Double Radiators are usually fitted in living rooms, bedrooms and spaces that require that bit more power to feel heated. They are visibly thicker in depth than a single (K1) radiator so do need more space but usually are in larger areas so the size increase isn’t so noticeable.

Make A Satement

As with the standard panel radiators there is a huge variety of designer radiators. The major benefit of choosing a designer/ decorative radiator is that it allows you to add your style to your home. There is a huge market out there from anthracite vertical or horizontal column designs to abstract designs akin to art in a gallery you really are spoilt for choice.

Feeling Traditional?

A new radiator does not mean that that it needs to be ‘modern’. A traditional cast iron adiator can inject a real sense of character into a room as well as providing ample heat for your home. Readily available in a varing colours and finishes. While this style of radiator is typically more expensive, it packs a punch when it comes to making a statement.

A Handy Guide To Bleeding Your Radiators

Radiators like most things, over time may require some TLC. One of the most common and thankfully one of the quickest to remedy issues we hear about with radiators is ‘cold spots’. This issue can be resolved by simply bleeding your radiator. If the cold spots persist you may want to investigate flushing your system.

Learn More

Radiators are designed to heat the air in the room using convection to transfer heat from the radiators to the surrounding air. They do this by drawing cool air in at the bottom, warming the air as it passes over the radiator fins, and discharging the heated air at the top. Heated water enters a radiator at one end, and circulates around a closed loop before exiting the radiator at the opposite end. As it returns to the boiler, the water is heated again and the cycle continues.
